Getting to grips with proper scenario editing (as opposed to hack tests for specific functionality) has brought home to me how important the track direction setting is to the correct working of the AI - and how easy it is to inadvertently get it wrong!
At first glance, the Railworks texture tools are very "all or nothing"... you can have this texture or that in a given area, and perhaps with a short changeover area. In fact they can be used to much greater levels of control, but the key is the strength (called Speed) control in the UI, and when used with Wang-type textures.
Recently I have been continuing to work on the Newmarket line, having spent a brief spell making fields and orchards at Histon - I've attached a photo of the view to Cawcutts Farm, a central part of the Chivers Fruit farm group.
